3 Secrets to Living Your Passion
Live Your Passion
What if every day you were living your purpose and following your calling in life?
What if you lived in the present tense rather than holding out for the future?
Ever wonder what would that look like?
The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet. Frederick Buechner, Wishful Thinking: A Theological ABC
I believe we all have a calling, even when we don’t recognize it. In fact I wrote a whole book about discovering that calling and what to do with it when you find it! Here’s a link to the book:

6 Benefits of Knowing Your Calling
There are a lot of reasons to spend some time discovering your calling…here are a few;
- Decision making is easier because it gives you something against which to measure your activities
- It connects you with what is true about your life and helps you cut away what is false
- It keeps you from getting tangled up in the unimportant details of your life
- It keeps you from responding to the urgent rather than the important
- It grounds you in the present rather than the past while helping you to plan for the future
- It gives you clarity and focus for each day
Discovering your calling is an introspective and contemplative journey that takes commitment and time but the result is amazing.
What do you do once you recognize your calling? It becomes the force behind writing your life story. It means you decide to live an intentional and creative life.
One of the things that I do in Dream Achiever Coaching is help people discover and live their passion or their calling in life.When you know your calling, you can make decisions about your career, relationships and activities with the assurance that you are making choices that matter and that make a difference in the world.
Recently while talking to a client about her career, she related that she took her current job out of necessity. Her family needed her income and it was what she found readily available. While she has given it her best and it has provided for her family financially, it is wearing her out physically, mentally and spiritually. It is time to make a different choice. This time she would like to make a choice knowing what gives her joy, from a position of abundance, rather than a position of scarcity. We all have a calling and we are all called to live a life that matters.
