Writing… Do You Love It or Hate It?

When I work with coaches of all kinds, it often seems they tend to show up in one of two camps:

#1 I Love to Write! Coaches:

These are coaches who really enjoy writing, anything. They might have a book in progress, they might write a weekly blog or newsletter. They write much of their own marketing copy.

On the Up Side: They have no shortage of ideas to write about. They also often have a vast resource of already written content they can use or repurpose content creation to the point of neglecting determining and meeting the needs of their clients.

#2 Writing Is Not My Thing:( Coaches

These coaches prefer to do anything but write (and usually do). They may be fantastic at interacting with their clients but do little in providing content that will either market their business or educate their clients.

On the Up Side: They don’t get lost in content creation and instead focus on the needs of their clients.

On the Down Side: They often don’ t do well in the social media space of marketing and drawing in clients. Follow-up especially through newsletters or email campaigns is often a problem.

Question:

As a coach, do you need to have  online content or can you thrive without it?  Answer: Yes but… you can do it your way:)

As a coach, having magnetic online content is key to attracting and engaging your audience.

Why Coaches Need Magnetic Online Content

  1. Connect with Your Audience: Magnetic online content allows you to connect with your audience on a deeper level. It’s not just about selling your services; it’s about providing value and building relationships with your audience.
  2. Establish Authority: High-quality content establishes you as an authority in your niche. When you consistently deliver valuable insights and advice, potential clients are more likely to trust you and seek out your services.
  3. Drive Engagement: Magnetic content sparks engagement and conversation. Whether it’s through blog comments, social media shares, or email responses, engaging content keeps your audience coming back for more.

In the vast sea of online content…

How do you ensure that your message stands out?

Don’t Do This:

  1. Be Too Salesy: One of the biggest mistakes coaches make is being overly promotional in their content. Instead of providing value, they focus on selling their services, which can turn off potential clients.
  2. Be Inconsistent: Inconsistency in posting can cause your audience to lose interest or forget about you altogether. Regularly publishing valuable content keeps you top of mind and reinforces your expertise.
  3. Ignore Audience Needs: Failing to address your audience’s pain points and interests can result in content that falls flat. It’s essential to understand your audience and tailor your content to meet their needs.

Crafting magnetic online content is not just about creating noise; it’s about making an impact. By understanding your audience, and avoiding common mistakes, you can create content that attracts, engages, and converts potential clients.
